but why was it so important or ONE girl to have the school prayer removed?
were her studies being interrupted because of a prayer on the wall she didn’t have to look at?
i seriously doubt it.
was she going to die from it being on the wall?
GTFO, of course not. that would be ridiculous.
…
It’s important because if it had been a Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, or any kind of Pagan prayer, it would have been defaced and removed the day it went up.
My friend wasn’t allowed to play in games on my high school football team because his family were Jehovah’s Witnesses. The coach simply stated, “You cannot play any week unless you bring a note from your pastor or preacher that you attended church the prior week.” Despite his family’s disagreement with the Kingdom Hall in town, Chris went on Saturday (The day the Kingdom Hall worships), and brought a note. Coach Green said, “I said unless you brought a note from Sunday.” The other players supported Chris’s point that coach never said Sunday, but Principal Ellis still supported the coach.
You know what got Chris into an actual game the next to last game of the season? A lawsuit filed by Chris’s dad. Did Chris go on to be an award-winning NFL player because of this? You bet your ass he didn’t! But it doesn’t mean that for the rest of his life he now understands that even among Christians, he is viewed as not worthy.
Religion is a key focal point for almost everything in this country. Look at your money. Her point wasn’t the christianity of the prayer. It was the hypocrisy of the law.
I support her. But you’re way too fucking awesome to unfollow for an opinion I respect, in the first place!
